Cuisivin Absinthe Couvet Spoon

Absinthe Spoons are rare accessories essential for the absinthe ceremony. The ritual involves placing a sugar cube on the flat perforated absinthe spoon which rests across the rim of the glass containing a measure of absinthe. Iced water is then very slowly dripped onto the sugar cube, which gradually dissolves along with the water into the absinthe, causing the green liquor to louche (loosh) into an opaque opalescent colour as the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution. The Spoon’s design is complete with the ‘fairies’ famously referenced in the traditional absinthe-drinking description of “Chasing the Green Fairy”.
